Gwinnett Online Campus’ interactive learning experience thrills students

Gwinnett Online Campus (GOC), Georgia’s oldest online K–12 program serving 5,000+ students, faced the challenge of preserving its core value of exceptional instruction while moving to a rich digital environment. Leaders needed an inviting, grade-appropriate online “campus” that let younger and older learners access district-approved resources, socialize, and receive individualized attention across different grade levels.

GOC implemented the Brightspace platform with custom, game-like interfaces, grade-specific interactive classrooms, a media mall for easy access to approved resources, and a strong focus on hiring and training expert online teachers. The result: improved student engagement, outstanding state test performance (including first place statewide for fourth-grade reading and language arts), a 25% year‑over‑year increase in full-time enrollment, and industry recognition for innovation.
