A D2L Brightspace Case Study
Good Roads, a municipal association focused on improving Ontario’s roads, needed a way to modernize its largely in-person training and reach new learners as job roles, regulations, and technology changed. With D2L Brightspace, the organization set out to move its education programs online so it could serve a broader audience, including private sector partners and First Nations communities, while creating a new revenue stream.
D2L Brightspace helped Good Roads launch and scale online learning quickly, including a new micro-credential built in just weeks. The results were strong: Good Roads now offers 75 courses online with just three staff and volunteer instructors, online learner numbers are doubling month over month, and one course drew about 109 municipalities versus an expected 40. Online training has also become a major revenue driver and expanded access across Ontario.
