A D2L Brightspace Case Study
Wodonga Middle Years College, a regional K–12 school of 841 students on the Victoria–New South Wales border, needed to support early teenagers through a critical transition period by extending learning beyond the classroom, reducing teacher workload and increasing parent engagement despite its remote location. The challenge was to make learning more engaging and accessible on any device so students could learn whenever and wherever they wanted.
The college implemented D2L’s Brightspace as a central LMS, enabling device access to course content, collaborative teacher workflows, parent visibility, and new uses like students filming and uploading PE skill videos for feedback. As a result, teachers spend more time on student interaction, parents can reinforce learning at home, and achievement has risen across grammar, punctuation, spelling, reading and writing—helping the school move from pockets of greatness toward consistent success for all.
