Case Study: Fanshawe College boosts LMS adoption and streamlines learning with D2L Brightspace

Fanshawe College needed to expand the reach and accessibility of its online learning while reducing the administrative burden on faculty. Using the D2L Brightspace learning management system, the college worked to make FanshaweOnline easier to use for students and staff, improve course navigation, and support more inclusive digital learning for a large student body.

D2L Brightspace helped Fanshawe College automate grading and grade transfers, integrate tools like Akindi, and launch more flexible online assessments, including remote WRIT testing. The results included faster marking, less manual work for faculty, and stronger engagement: 94% of students and 99% of faculty use FanshaweOnline regularly, with a 90% satisfaction rate for the platform and about 4,000 students per year choosing the remote assessment option.
