El Paso Community College, a large Texas community college serving a diverse student population, wanted a more flexible, competency-based learning model to help students balance school with work and family responsibilities. After launching Tejano Flex Learning, the college needed a new LMS that could support its CBE approach while meeting stricter data security requirements, and it chose D2L Brightspace.

D2L Brightspace helped EPCC build and scale Tejano Flex Learning with tools like release conditions, Creator+, and training and implementation support from D2L’s teams. The result was rapid adoption, growing from 20 early adopters to more than 80 faculty, 95% of surveyed students saying the interactive design improved learning, and a 75% average student success rate in the Criminal Justice CBE pathway.
