Creating custom learning experiences at scale

Harvard Business Publishing Corporate Learning delivers tailored leadership development built on Harvard Business School and Harvard Business Review content, but its co-creation approach and highly customized blended programs created a complex learner experience that left users unsure what to do next. After phase one of a new solution, the team identified the need to simplify navigation and provide a consistent, client-specific experience without sacrificing flexibility.

Working with D2L’s Learning and Creative Services and using learner interviews and usability testing, they redesigned the Brightspace interface, added clear learning objectives and a single activity page, and developed a reusable design system of templates and components. The result was a cleaner, consistently branded experience that boosted learner engagement, made programs easier to set up and customize at scale, and earned positive client feedback.
