Creating Centralized Reporting and Clear Insight to Student Progress

Saanich School District needed to replace its inefficient paper-based report card process, which relied on hours of manual printing, sorting, stapling, and students physically bringing documents home. Using the D2L Brightspace platform, the district created a centralized online system called Reporting Courses so parents and guardians could securely access student progress and other important documents anytime.

D2L Brightspace helped Saanich School District roll out the solution across schools with a pilot first, then a full launch. The result was nearly 60,000 documents securely delivered, more than 14,000 students and 1,500 parents or guardians using Reporting Courses, 100% of families gaining easy online access to report cards, and significant reductions in administrative work and office phone calls.
