CHIME pivots rapidly to empower healthcare leaders during the COVID-19 pandemic

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), which serves healthcare IT leaders, set out to expand its education offerings beyond in‑person events to reach a much broader global audience. A nine‑month plan to implement a new LMS was upended by COVID‑19, and CHIME needed a fast solution to keep educating and supporting healthcare professionals during the crisis.

CHIME partnered with D2L to accelerate deployment of the Brightspace platform, using D2L’s Learning & Creative Services to scope an iterative launch and deliver the initial system in two weeks. With features like Intelligent Agents, gamification and Course Merchant, the platform now offers on‑demand courses and subscriptions, generated strong learner engagement and positive feedback, and created a scalable channel for serving thousands of learners while supporting frontline healthcare efforts.
