Italferr, the engineering company of the Ferrovie dello Stato Group, faced the complex challenge of selecting the optimal route for a new high-speed line between Palermo and Catania. They needed to compare four different alternatives against six families of criteria, requiring a rigorous and interactive multi-criteria evaluation process. They turned to D-Sight to help with this demanding analysis.

Using the D-Sight collaborative decision-making software, Italferr implemented a repeatable and objective process to deeply evaluate each alternative. The solution from D-Sight significantly reduced the time spent on the analysis and provided a solid, visual basis for discussions with stakeholders and the client, RFI. The process was concluded very quickly and the resulting choice was easier to justify, greatly increasing client satisfaction and confidence in the selected route.
