D-Link IP Surveillance Protects Baroque Art in One of Italy's Oldest Universities

The University for Foreigners of Perugia, one of Italy’s oldest and most prestigious institutions, needed a video surveillance system that could improve access control across its main headquarters and nearby buildings while protecting historic architecture and meeting data protection requirements. D-Link was chosen to provide an IP surveillance solution that would fit discreetly into the university’s Baroque setting.

D-Link implemented a system of 22 cloud cameras, 3 network video recorders, and 7 switches, including compact DCS-2230 cameras for more discreet placement. The solution improved real-time monitoring, provided video playback and evidence when needed, and helped deter crime and vandalism without damaging frescos or architectural elements; the university also praised D-Link for strong support and controlled costs.
