A D-Link Case Study
InLine Network Integration worked with the Dallas Zoo, which was facing a major networking challenge after privatization: its small IT team had to replace aging services on a tight budget, but the zoo lacked a common voice-and-data network and had disconnected buildings with only isolated LANs and T1 Internet links. D-Link provided the affordable networking foundation needed to consolidate communications across the zoo.
D-Link implemented a solution centered on the D-Link DGS-1210-10P Web Smart switches with PoE and SFP ports, deploying 40 switches across the site along with 196 phones, 170 shared PCs for 300 users, and two new servers. The rollout was completed on schedule despite fiber delays, and the new network improved productivity, enabled easier monthly reporting, saved staff time through better communication and local video access, and supported networked cameras for animal behavior research.
