A D-Link Case Study
Joaquin Independent School District (ISD), a small rural school district in Joaquin, Texas, needed to overhaul its aging core network while staying within a tight budget. The district also had to support hundreds of PCs and mobile devices and improve campus security with an affordable IP surveillance solution, so it turned to D-Link for managed switches, wireless infrastructure, and cameras.
D-Link first supplied a few switches for the main MDF, then gradually expanded across the district until Joaquin ISD completed a full network upgrade with 80 switches and about 80 access points. With D-Link, the district now supports nearly 800 LAN connections, 300–400 wireless connections, 170 IP surveillance cameras, 80 IP phones, public Wi-Fi, virtual machines, and gigabit connectivity from PC to server, all while improving stability, speed, and storage performance.
