D-Link Helps Food Processing Company in Washington Eliminate Network Downtime and Enable Round-the-Clock Efficiency

Blue Bird Pears, a Washington-based fruit packing and processing company, needed a more reliable and secure network to avoid costly downtime during peak production. With cherry season approaching and only two weeks to complete the project, the company also needed a faster, more fault-tolerant infrastructure that could support better traffic segmentation and stronger security.

D-Link helped deliver a new high-performance network built around D-Link Layer 3 switches at the core and Layer 2+ switches for the LAN and edge, enabling VLAN-based traffic prioritization and new services like wireless, IP phones, and network printing. The result was zero network-induced downtime during cherry season, 10-gigabit connectivity across the network, and a system robust enough to run the company’s new facility and connect its other campus locations.
