D-Link End-to-End IP Surveillance System Enhances Risk Management at Two Texas Hospitals

Millwood Hospital, along with Hickory Trails Hospital, needed a more dependable surveillance system to support 24/7 patient monitoring, staff training, and risk management. Their existing analog setup had poor picture quality, making dispute resolution and litigation difficult, while theft incidents and an employee assault highlighted the need for better security. Vendor D-Link provided the end-to-end IP surveillance technology used to address these challenges.

D-Link implemented a surveillance network built on 250 day/night fixed dome IP cameras, xStack Gigabit Layer 2 Managed PoE switches, and an xStack iSCSI SAN array for storing 30 to 90 days of audio and video footage. The new system delivered much clearer video, including in dark rooms, and improved event resolution, training, and safety. According to the case study, the accurate audio and video evidence helped save significant legal fees and added ROI through better risk reduction.
