SaltStack achieves 100% test coverage with Cypress

SaltStack, an IT automation platform now part of VMware, faced challenges with time-consuming manual front-end testing that was slowing releases and increasing the potential for bugs. During a rapid expansion and a shift in architecture, they turned to the vendor Cypress and its Cypress App and Cypress Cloud products to implement automated testing and accelerate their QA cycles.

Using Cypress, a SaltStack engineer wrote over 300 tests in the first month, automating the majority of their end-to-end tests. The solution resulted in the team running over 500 flake-free tests twice daily and achieving 100% test coverage for all new features. Cypress enabled SaltStack to deliver higher quality with confidence and adapt to a rapid pace of change.
