A Cylance Case Study
The University of Delaware, one of the oldest universities in the United States, needed a better way to protect 23,000 students and 4,300 employees from zero-day attacks, unknown malware, and threats to personally identifiable information. Its IT team was dissatisfied with a signature-based security approach and wanted to secure endpoints used for handling restricted data.
The university deployed CylancePROTECT on endpoints handling PII, starting with 1,000 endpoints and later expanding to 2,500. Cylance blocked unknown malware, fit into the existing environment, and worked alongside McAfee; since installation, the university said it had not had a single machine fall victim to ransomware and had not needed to re-image a single protected endpoint.
