Publicly Traded Technology Company, a U.S.-based online faxing and digital media provider, needed to modernize its aging fax administration portal. The legacy J2EE-based admin panel was difficult to maintain and extend, and it caused configuration, hardware, and support challenges for managing fax users, assigning numbers, and reviewing traffic reports. Cygnet Infotech was brought in to help migrate the platform to Grails.
Cygnet Infotech rewrote the admin panel on Grails with an Agile approach, introducing a cleaner tabular UI, reusable plugins, Ajax-based interactions, centralized business logic, and improved access control and localization support. The new solution removed hardware/software configuration burdens, replaced JMS with ActiveMQ, and added reporting/export capabilities, resulting in streamlined account and number management, better analytics, faster fax processing, and a more user-friendly experience.
