A CyCognito Case Study
Scientific Games, a global leader in gaming and lottery, needed visibility into previously unknown attacker‑exposed risks across multiple business units and a way to report granular security posture to the Board. Global CISO Kevin Kealy adopted the CyCognito platform to gain attack surface visibility and to streamline and automate processes that had been manual and piecemeal.
CyCognito delivered immediate discovery of unknown assets and attack paths, helping Scientific Games identify and remove obsolete devices (including a 2015 joint‑venture artifact), stop a shadow‑IT marketing effort that could have exposed customer data, and correct misattributed IPs that risked reputational harm. The CyCognito platform’s A–F business‑unit grades and Remediation Planner improved reporting and remediation prioritization—one business unit moved from worst to second‑best and has had no incidents since—while reducing overall risk, complexity, and incident‑response costs through automation.
