Not-for-Profit Health System cuts Okta costs by $1.5M with Cyclotron

A not-for-profit health system with over 50,000 employees faced a complex identity modernization challenge, needing to migrate from Okta to Microsoft Entra for better security and cost savings. The project was daunting due to the scale of moving 58,000 identities and 150+ applications, technical issues with their Citrix environment, and the need to coordinate with numerous third-party vendors. The vendor, Cyclotron, was brought in for the engagement.

Cyclotron used its proprietary migration platform, Cyclotron Beam, to automate the transition, overcoming hurdles like MFA prompts in Citrix and complex guest access requirements. The results were significant, with the migration completed in less than 7 months instead of a projected 18 months. The client successfully migrated over 64,000 identities and 203 applications, leading to $1.5 million in annual savings from cancelling their Okta contract, a stronger security posture, and improved operational efficiency.
