Case Study: Bolton NHS Foundation Trust achieves fewer people-related security incidents and improved staff cyber behaviour with CybSafe

A CybSafe Case Study

Preview of the Bolton NHS Foundation Trust Case Study

Helping a leading NHS Trust extend its duty of care

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, a major provider of hospital and community health services in Greater Manchester, faced low engagement and limited impact from traditional “tick-box” cyber security training across a diverse workforce. Seeking a scalable, flexible solution, the Trust chose CybSafe and deployed its platform — including the Awareness Hub, Behaviour Change Hub and Culture Hub — to around 1,500 staff to address knowledge gaps and improve real-world security behaviours.

CybSafe rolled out bespoke healthcare modules, phishing simulation and modular, prioritised content that could be annotated for different roles, enabling staff to learn in small, relevant chunks. As a result, the Trust closed identified knowledge gaps, flipped staff attitudes toward security, and saw people-related security incidents fall well below previous levels and internal benchmarks, reducing both the frequency and impact of breaches.
