A Cybertrol Engineering Case Study

Preview of the Midwest University Case Study

Midwest University upgrades one boiler system to two standalone servers with Cybertrol Engineering

The customer, Midwest University, faced a challenge with its boiler system's outdated servers and operating systems, which posed risks to efficiency, cybersecurity, and system resilience. They engaged vendor Cybertrol Engineering, in partnership with Van Meter Inc., to implement a comprehensive modernization using a Rockwell Automation PlantPAx Distributed Control System (DCS).

Cybertrol Engineering executed a solution that included updating PLC firmware, enhancing HMI visualization with FactoryTalk View SE, and reconfiguring the server infrastructure from one server to two. This resulted in a more robust, secure, and efficient system that improved operational reliability and also led to reduced energy consumption and operational costs. The project was so successful that Cybertrol and Van Meter were awarded Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork Innovation Awards for their work.
