A Minnesota-based healthcare campus utility plant was facing challenges with an outdated distributed control system (DCS) that was over 20 years old. The system was difficult to manage, inefficient, and relied on expensive secondhand parts, which created vulnerabilities for its critical heating and cooling operations. Cybertrol Engineering was engaged to implement a solution to modernize the plant.

Cybertrol Engineering upgraded the system to a Rockwell Automation PlantPAx DCS by utilizing existing A-B CompactLogix PACs. The solution included custom-built chassis for existing cabinets, remote access capabilities, and new data collection services. The project was completed with zero downtime. The new system improved facility performance, enabled remote support, and lowered the hospital's cost of ownership.
