Vodacom, a pan-African telecommunications company with a highly mobile workforce and extensive contractor use, needed a better way to manage access across buildings, network resources, and more than 100 applications. The company wanted to eliminate manual provisioning gaps, improve deprovisioning for leavers, and speed up identity management for employees and contractors. CyberRes products used in the project included NetIQ Identity Manager and NetIQ Access Manager.

CyberRes implemented a digital identity vault in NetIQ Identity Manager, integrated it with Vodacom’s SAP HR system, Microsoft Active Directory, and physical access controls, and added NetIQ Access Manager for single sign-on. The solution automated provisioning and deprovisioning, reduced manual credential assignment, and enabled access revocation on the day someone leaves. As a result, Vodacom cut provisioning time from days to hours, saved significant administrative effort, improved compliance and security, and enabled employees to be productive on their first day.
