The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SKL), Sweden’s largest employer organization, needed a more flexible way to manage and secure identities for a wide range of internal and external users across its digital collaboration networks. Its existing McAfee identity and access setup worked for internal staff but couldn’t scale to support federated access for 25,000 project users and SKL’s broader vision of serving up to 1.1 million member employees. CyberRes, through NetIQ solutions, was selected to help meet this challenge.

CyberRes implemented NetIQ Identity Manager, NetIQ Access Manager, NetIQ Advanced Authentication, and Self Service Password Reset to create a platform-neutral identity and access environment that could expand as needed. The new system supports web-based collaboration, OTP-based access for periodic users, and easier password management for internal users, while reducing maintenance effort and improving provisioning. SKL says the solution is more flexible, easier to maintain, and future-proof, with the potential to securely collaborate with over one million people.
