Proficio, a California-based managed security services provider, helped a major North American hospital that was suffering from more than 10,000 malicious logon attempts per day, poor network performance, and weak security controls after years of IT neglect. Using CyberRes ArcSight, Proficio provided 24/7 monitoring, correlation rules, and automated blocking for high-risk activity, reducing false positives and helping analysts focus on the most important alerts. The results were dramatic: actionable alerts dropped from thousands to just 3–4 per day, compromised-device response time fell to about 5 minutes, and threat detection time improved from 48 hours or more to under 15 minutes. The hospital also passed its audit and avoided the cost of building an in-house SOC.
