A CyberRes Case Study
LMU Munich, one of Germany’s leading universities, needed a way to meet growing demand for 24/7 online learning resources while protecting sensitive data and keeping IT costs under control. The Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences wanted greater control over access rights as students and staff increasingly used personal devices to reach university systems. CyberRes provided the identity management technology used in the project, centered on NetIQ Identity Manager and NetIQ eDirectory.
CyberRes worked with LMU’s partners to implement a secure identity provisioning and access-control solution that automated account creation and access management across university systems. The solution integrated with LMU’s existing administration and directory services, as well as the VERDE desktop virtualization platform, enabling seamless access for students and staff anywhere. As a result, LMU reduced administrative overhead, improved security monitoring, and maximized service availability with no maintenance windows, while giving users a single registration process and consistent access across faculties and external institutions.
