Case Study: KMD achieves transparent, efficient identity governance with CyberRes

KMD, one of Denmark’s largest IT and software companies, needed a better way to manage access for about 4,500 users across more than 200 systems, including SAP and mainframe environments. Its manual identity management and access review processes were time-consuming, hard to understand for business users, and posed risks around unauthorized access and compliance. KMD turned to CyberRes, using NetIQ Identity Manager and NetIQ Identity Governance to improve identity governance.

CyberRes implemented a self-service portal, automated approval and provisioning workflows, and translated technical entitlements into user-friendly terms so managers could make informed access decisions. The solution also tied provisioning to HR data for immediate deactivation when employees left and automated access reviews and audit reporting. As a result, KMD reduced access provisioning from days to hours, redeployed 50% of its identity management team, improved visibility and reporting, and achieved full compliance with EU data protection regulations.
