Community Health Systems - Customer Case Study

Community Health Systems (CHS), a major U.S. hospital operator with 158 hospitals across 22 states, faced a growing identity and access management challenge after rapid acquisitive growth. Healthcare staff at acquired hospitals were juggling multiple applications and credentials, creating password problems, delayed onboarding, and too much time spent logging in instead of caring for patients. CHS turned to CyberRes and its NetIQ Identity Manager solution to support single sign-on and streamline identity access across its clinical environment.

CyberRes, working with partner GCA, implemented NetIQ Identity Manager to automate user provisioning, introduce self-service workflows, and improve access management across 40–50 applications for more than 280,000 users. The result was faster onboarding, with new users provisioned in just ten minutes instead of weeks, temporary access changes completed in minutes rather than 48–72 hours, and helpdesk tickets cut by half. CyberRes helped CHS improve doctor satisfaction, reduce IT burden, and deliver a scalable identity platform for future growth.
