SCM Insurance Services - Customer Case Study

SCM Insurance Services, a North American insurance and risk-management firm with over 3,000 employees, faced limited threat visibility after routine penetration tests while relying on an external MSSP and open-source tools. To gain deeper endpoint detection and faster, automated response mapped to MITRE ATT&CK, SCM evaluated multiple vendors and selected Cybereason, ultimately choosing Cybereason Enterprise (including NGAV, Active Monitoring and Endpoint Controls).

Cybereason implemented the Cybereason Defense Platform plus continuous threat-hunting services, surfacing previously missed infections (e.g., coin miners and an obfuscated Mimikatz) and providing contextualized Malop™ views for full-incident scope. Cybereason increased high-fidelity detections, improved incident tracking and KPI reporting, enabled faster MITRE ATT&CK-based alerts and automated remediation, and reduced mean-time to response (MttR), effectively acting as an extension of SCM’s SOC.
