Higher Education Institution, a university serving 42,000 students and 6,000 employees across multiple campuses, found that signature-based endpoint protection was no longer sufficient after exposure to the SolarWinds and Kaseya supply-chain incidents. With a small three-person SOC, a highly mobile remote population due to COVID, and costly mobile backups, the institution needed a unified threat detection and response platform; they evaluated vendors and chose Cybereason XDR to address these gaps.

Cybereason implemented its XDR platform (and was considered for MDR services), deployed across all Windows and Mac endpoints, and provided its MalOp-driven workflows and single-console investigations. Cybereason delivered far fewer false positives, sped root-cause investigations and remediation, and materially reduced SOC time spent on noise—making the small security team far more effective—and the university is now looking to expand Cybereason to additional Workspace, Identity, and Multi-Cloud modules.
