French-Based Home Improvement and Gardening Retailer, a nearly century‑old big‑box chain, needed to protect customer data and a hybrid estate of in‑store, cloud and home endpoints after moving to mobile point‑of‑sale systems and shifting thousands of employees to remote work during the COVID‑19 pandemic. To reduce false positives, scale protection, and improve threat detection, the retailer selected Cybereason — deploying Cybereason Enterprise along with Managed Detection and Response (MDR) and MDR Mobile after a proof‑of‑concept against Microsoft Defender.
Cybereason implemented behavioral‑based prevention and detection (including the MalOp™ engine), NGAV and EDR across 11,300 endpoints, giving analysts actionable intelligence and tailored remediation steps. The outcome was fewer false positives, faster SecOps response, prevention of Emotet propagation via PowerShell, improved visibility across stores and home networks, and secure mobile POS processing — materially improving protection of the retailer’s systems and customer data.
