National Gypsum relies on pam solution to get privileged accounts under control

National Gypsum Company, a Charlotte‑based manufacturer of gypsum board and related construction materials with 43 North American facilities, faced a major security and compliance problem: it had no management or monitoring of privileged accounts. A single domain‑admin level account and many embedded application accounts with unmanaged, rarely changed passwords left databases and production systems highly vulnerable, and the CFO demanded that IT pass access‑control audits.

To remediate this, National Gypsum implemented the CyberArk Privileged Access Security Solution and Application Access Manager, created role‑based Active Directory accounts and “firefighter” access, and integrated with Opalis for secure automation. CyberArk’s Enterprise Password Vault now manages nearly 2,000 passwords with automatic rotation and full audit trails, removed hard‑coded credentials, enforced least privilege, improved operational efficiency, enabled a secure SAP deployment, and allowed the company to successfully pass privileged‑account audits.
