How apttus manages the access to its cloud-based environment with cyberark

Apttus, a San Mateo–based provider of Quote‑to‑Cash software delivered on the Salesforce1 platform, is predominantly cloud‑based and relies heavily on SaaS apps (Salesforce, NetSuite, Concur, Dropbox, Office 365) and Azure. Rapid growth from about 120 to 850 employees made user authentication and provisioning increasingly difficult: IT had to create accounts manually across multiple services, cope with differing password policies, run labor‑intensive audit reports, and handle frequent daily password‑reset requests.

With help from partner SoftwareONE, Apttus rolled out Active Directory and implemented CyberArk Identity to centralize credentials, enable single sign‑on, and add Mac management and mobile device management. The deployment automated provisioning and deprovisioning, enabled self‑service password resets, reduced help‑desk volume and administrative overhead, and allowed a six‑person IT team to efficiently support 850 employees while improving security and auditing.
