Boston Children’s Hospital Achieves Compliance by Controlling Access to Privileged Accounts

Boston Children’s Hospital, a leading pediatric medical center, faced a critical need to secure and control privileged administrator accounts that provide access to sensitive patient and system data. Manual password sharing, undocumented credentials, and no clear visibility into who was using privileged accounts made it difficult to revoke access for departing staff and meet compliance requirements.

The hospital deployed CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault to centrally store, rotate, and audit privileged credentials using FIPS-validated AES-256 encryption. More than 75 IT staff now use a single web console to provision, access, and manage accounts, enabling automated provisioning/deprovisioning, instant updates, detailed audit trails, and significant time savings—improving security, accountability, and compliance.
