Banco Galicia Uses Multiple CyberArk Identity Security Products To Enhance Security

Banco Galicia, one of Argentina’s largest private banks with roughly 3.4 million customers and about 12% market share, faced growing cyber risk as customers and staff moved online. The bank struggled with privileged access—more than 2,600 local administrator accounts, many accessing systems remotely during COVID—while needing to boost operational efficiency and meet strict financial regulations.

Banco Galicia deployed the CyberArk Identity Security Platform (including Privileged Access Manager, Endpoint Privilege Manager, Workforce Identity and Vendor PAM) to centralize credential protection, monitor sessions, enable just‑in‑time and biometric vendor access, and modernize legacy systems. Within six months they cut local admin accounts from 2,600 to fewer than 50, improved endpoint and third‑party security with minimal operational impact, and now exceed current compliance requirements while simplifying audit reporting.
