A Cxense Case Study
Winnipeg Free Press, a 140-year-old Canadian regional newspaper, faced the challenge of increasing audience engagement while competing for attention in a crowded media landscape with limited resources. To better meet reader expectations, it turned to Cxense Content to personalize nearly its entire homepage and deliver more relevant stories to each visitor.
Cxense implemented real-time content recommendations based on trending topics, individual browsing behavior, and lookalike reader interests. The results were strong: average time on site rose from 282 to 632 seconds, page views per visit increased from 5.65 to 10.54, and homepage click-through improved from 66% to 82% in a week, helping Winnipeg Free Press keep users on the site longer and consume more content.
