The customer, Sphero LittleBits, faced the challenge of integrating Microsoft MakeCode into their environment to give children the power to program their LittleBits creations. They needed a solution that would provide a drag-and-drop coding tool within their app without creating excessive technical debt, and partnered with the vendor Cuttlesoft for custom software development.

Cuttlesoft dove into the MakeCode source code and worked hand-in-hand with the Sphero team to implement a minimal, elegant integration. The solution, delivered as a React web application, gave Sphero the needed functionality and a foundation for future customization, enabling them to launch the Fuse app. This impacted their educational mission, contributing to a platform used by 40,000 educators and 6 million students.
