San Diego Archaeological Center's New Web App Is The Future Of Engaging With The Past

The San Diego Archaeological Center, a nonprofit dedicated to curating and making accessible 10,000 years of regional history, faced the challenge of bringing dispersed and often hidden artifact collections into clear public view while engaging diverse audiences. To address this, the Center partnered with Cuseum to create a digital solution that would preserve artifacts’ stories and make them widely accessible.

Cuseum developed and launched a web app for the San Diego Archaeological Center featuring four digital tours, including the thirteen-part "By Land and Sea" series and an "Archaeology 101" tour with hands-on activities for children and adults. The Cuseum-built app immediately expanded access and engagement—providing four structured tours and a 13-part narrative that help visitors rethink the past and interact with the Center’s collections online.
