The Bump, a pregnancy and parenting publisher, needed to grow readership beyond traditional channels and convert its fast‑growing Instagram audience into site traffic. The challenge was to turn highly visual, mostly user‑generated Instagram content into a reliable source of readers and awareness for editorial and registry pages.
Partnering with Curalate, The Bump linked Instagram feed photos to specific articles and pages via their bio/shop, used Curalate reporting to optimize imagery, and promoted registry-related lifestyle images. The result: Instagram shop sessions rose 240% (Aug–Nov 2016), the feature has driven more traffic than Twitter despite fewer followers, and it has sent 60,000+ visitors to The Bump’s site since launch.
