Kahlúa aimed to move its brand beyond the bar and into holiday kitchens by inspiring consumers to use its liqueur in seasonal recipes. Recognizing Pinterest as the destination for food and drink ideas, Kahlúa ran its first-ever Pinterest promotion—powered by Curalate—asking users to pin their idea of the ultimate holiday party (including six suggested Kahlúa recipes) for a chance to win $5,000.
Using Curalate’s marketing and analytics suite to launch and measure the month-long campaign, Kahlúa collected more than 16,000 unique email addresses, generated 1.4 million+ impressions, and gained 3,800 new Pinterest followers (a 14X increase). The promotion also delivered sustained engagement: the month after the campaign, pinning from Kahlua.com grew 4X and repinning of those recipes rose 6.5X, boosting site traffic and visibility while driving real-world use of the product in home kitchens.
