Refinery29, a lifestyle publisher beloved for fashion and beauty coverage, teamed with a major retailer that wanted to boost style credibility and promote in-store brands by tapping Refinery29’s audience. The challenge was creating a promotion that felt natural, encouraged participation, and sustained engagement after the contest ended.
Curalate built an interactive, shoppable grid curated by Refinery29 and ran a simple entry contest (pick an item and enter your email). The campaign drove 2,337 entrants, 2,650 contest pins, 643,000 impressions and collected 3,435 emails, while the retailer’s Pinterest following grew 5% and organic pins rose 17% (Refinery29’s organic pins rose 31%).
