Carnival Cruise Lines, the world’s largest cruise operator, partnered with Curalate to grow its Pinterest presence and drive more referral traffic to its website. Carnival’s goals were to increase followers, boost site referrals from Pinterest, and make it easy and fun for fans to engage and express their creativity.

Curalate ran a Pinterest promotion where fans pinned one of four “dream cruise” images for a chance to win a 7-day Caribbean cruise, directing entrants to destination-specific boards to amplify their stories. The campaign quadrupled Carnival’s Pinterest followers (400% increase), drove nearly 700% more Pinterest referral traffic, generated 18,000 email opt-ins (45% of entrants), produced 40,000 board pins and more than 3 million impressions.
