MicroAd revolutionizes networking infrastructure with Cumulus Linux

MicroAd, a fast-growing AdTech company powering Japan’s largest Internet advertising network, faced mounting complexity and cost as its layer‑2 infrastructure expanded to handle high‑throughput, real‑time ad services and global growth. The team needed a scalable, redundant network design that reduced operational overhead and simplified troubleshooting while supporting a large in‑memory database cluster.

MicroAd adopted a web‑scale Clos layer‑3 fabric using bare‑metal switches running Cumulus Linux, buying ODM hardware to cut CapEx and using existing Linux skills and server tools to automate and manage the network. After deploying ten 10G switches, the company gained easier, centralized management, improved redundancy and lower OpEx/CapEx, and plans to roll out additional Cumulus Linux switches to extend these gains.
