Blackham Resources Ltd, a Perth-based gold mining company operating in Wiluna, Western Australia, needed additional prime power to support its expanding production. Its existing power setup already included Cummins generator sets, so the challenge was to add more generation capacity that could run in parallel with the installed equipment while performing reliably in a remote site with extreme temperatures.

Cummins supplied a C2000N5CD HSK78 gas generator set with an automatic paralleling system to work alongside the existing Cummins units. The solution delivered high efficiency, strong transient performance, and reliable operation in harsh conditions, including no de-rating at 45°C and output of 1,800 kWe at 55°C. With an 80,000-hour major overhaul cycle and fast service support from Cummins, the installation improved uptime and gave the mine a dependable long-term power solution.
