Waxler Transportation Co - Customer Case Study

Waxler Transportation Co., an inland transport subsidiary of Secor, needed reliable main propulsion for a new series of 3,200 HP pushboats joining its growing fleet. The customer’s latest vessel, the Angela Jean, was part of a five-boat build program designed for river transport operations. Cummins supplied the marine power package, including KTA50 M2 diesel engines and Cummins Onan generators.

Cummins equipped each vessel with a pair of Cummins KTA50 M2 diesels rated at 1,600 HP each, coupled to Haley HRV Series gears, plus twin 99 kW Cummins Onan generators. This solution delivered the required propulsion and onboard electrical power for the 99-by-35-foot towboats, supporting Waxler Transportation’s fleet expansion with standardized, high-output marine systems from Cummins.
