Vietnamese Fisherman Opts for Cummins and Fiberglass

UNINSHIP needed a high-performance crewboat that could combine Italian design, reliable construction, and strong maneuverability for personnel transfer and offshore support. To meet this challenge, the shipyard selected Cummins power for the vessel’s main propulsion system, using four KTA50-M2 diesel engines.

Cummins equipped the 51.75-meter Blue Brother with four KTA50-M2 diesels rated at 1,342 kW each, paired with ZF gearboxes and fixed propellers. The result is a total of 5,372 kW (7,200 HP), enabling a top speed of 28 knots while supporting DP2 operations and substantial onboard capacities for fuel, water, and lube oil.
