University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center - Customer Case Study

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, home to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City, needed to replace 30-year-old standby power equipment to support its growing, highly advanced medical services. Working with Cummins, the facility looked for a more reliable emergency backup power solution with greater redundancy and enough flexibility to handle increasing electrical demands.

Cummins provided three 1,000 kW DQFAD diesel generator sets, isolated bus paralleling gear, and 12 OTPC automatic transfer switches, delivered with local support and medical-facility expertise. The new system was installed in a tight seven-month schedule and gave the hospital dependable standby power, added redundancy, and room to expand with a fourth generator set as future power needs grow.
