A Cummins Case Study
The University of Lagos in Lagos, Nigeria needed to modernize the prime power supply for its two campuses after its 20-year-old low-speed diesel generators became obsolete and costly to maintain. Cummins was selected to help replace the aging system with a more reliable integrated power solution.
Cummins delivered a prime power upgrade that included three C2250 D5 2000 kVA generator sets, one C1675 D5 1400 kVA generator set, an MV Synchronization Panel, and a DMC 1000 controller, with an additional 1000 kVA set planned. The first stage for the College of Medicine was completed in five months, and the Cummins “Power of One” approach helped reduce equipment footprint, cut installation time, and improve system reliability across both campuses.
