Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort - Customer Case Study

Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort in Flagstaff, Arizona, needed reliable emergency standby power for a large gaming, hospitality, and life-safety facility in a rural desert location prone to outages. The resort’s critical systems included gaming floors, security, and other business-essential operations, making uptime a top priority. Cummins was selected based on prior experience, engineering relationships, and service support for the project.

Cummins implemented two 2 MW DQKAB generator sets with a PowerCommand® paralleling system, including a DMC 300 digital master control, nine sections of switchgear, and two sections of low-voltage controls. The closed-transition, soft-loading design helped prevent harmful back-feeding while supporting prioritized load transfer and safer maintenance. The system was commissioned ahead of the resort’s opening, has performed exceptionally, and Cummins Rocky Mountain responded to an outage on site in less than 2.5 hours, reinforcing the value of its support in a remote location.
