Triple-Screw Tug for Hudson River

Rodriguez Ship Building built the “Daisy Mae” for Coeymans Marine Towing to create a tug with near Z-drive maneuverability, strong river performance, and the ability to handle tight harbors and currents on the Hudson River. To power the vessel, the customer used Cummins engines, including twin QSK38s and a center-line QSK19, along with Cummins QSB7-DM generator sets.

Cummins helped deliver a 3,350 HP triple-screw tug that combines high maneuverability, shallow draft, and strong bollard pull. The vessel achieved a bollard pull of 47.5 tons, was delivered in October 2017, and the owner’s representative said Rodriguez Ship Building exceeded expectations with the quality and speed of the build, adding a valuable new vessel to the fleet.
